Roof Cleaning
How often should I have my roof cleaned?
We recommend professional roof cleaning every 2-3 years, depending on your location and surrounding environment. Properties near trees or in damp areas may need more frequent cleaning.
Do you use chemicals on roofs?
Yes, we use approved biocides to treat moss and algae growth. These are safe, environmentally responsible treatments that provide long-lasting results and help prevent regrowth.
Will roof cleaning damage my tiles?
No, we use low-pressure cleaning methods specifically designed for roof tiles. Our techniques are gentle yet effective, preserving the integrity of your roof while removing dirt, moss, and algae.
Patio & Decking Cleaning
Can you clean natural stone patios?
Yes, we have experience cleaning all types of patio materials including natural stone, concrete, Indian sandstone, limestone, and porcelain. We use appropriate cleaning methods for each material type.
Do you offer protective treatments for decking?
We focus on thorough cleaning and restoration of your decking. While we don’t apply protective coatings, we can recommend trusted local specialists for staining or sealing services after cleaning.
How long does patio cleaning take?
Most patio cleaning jobs take 2-4 hours depending on size and condition. Larger or heavily soiled areas may take longer. We’ll give you an estimated timeframe when providing your quote.

Do you require payment upfront?
No, payment is due upon completion of the work. We accept cash, bank transfer, or card payments. For larger commercial jobs, we may arrange staged payments.

Do you need access to water and electricity?
Yes, we need access to an outside tap for water and a standard electrical outlet. If these aren’t available, please let us know when booking so we can bring additional equipment.
Will you clean up afterwards?
Yes, we always clean up thoroughly after our work. This includes proper disposal of debris and ensuring all areas are left tidy. We take pride in leaving your property spotless.
Maintenance & Care
How often should I have my roof cleaned?
Most Essex properties benefit from professional roof cleaning every 2-3 years. However, properties with trees nearby, low-pitched roofs, north-facing slopes, or coastal locations may need annual cleaning. We recommend an annual inspection every autumn to assess your roof’s condition.
What are the signs that my roof needs cleaning?
Watch for visible moss or algae growth, dark staining or discolouration, blocked gutters from organic debris, green or black streaks, or damaged/lifting tiles. If you notice any of these signs, it’s time for professional cleaning.
When is the best time of year for roof cleaning?
In Essex, the optimal times are late spring (April-May) after winter growth but before summer heat, and early autumn (September-October) before winter weather sets in. We need dry conditions and light winds for safety and effectiveness.
How can I maintain my patio between professional cleans?
Weekly: sweep to remove debris and clear drainage points. Monthly: wash with appropriate cleaners and check for weed growth. Address stains immediately to prevent permanent damage. Different materials (natural stone, block paving, concrete) have specific care requirements.
What should I do if I spill oil on my driveway?
For fresh spills, immediately absorb with sand or cat litter, then sweep up. For set stains, use degreasing agents. Persistent or large stains require professional treatment with specialized equipment and cleaning solutions.
Can salt damage my patio in winter?
Yes, avoid using salt on natural stone patios as it can cause damage and staining. Instead, use sand for traction or specialized ice melts safe for stone. Keep drainage channels clear and minimize heavy traffic on frozen surfaces.
Why do properties near trees need more frequent cleaning?
Trees create shade (keeping surfaces damp longer), drop organic debris that feeds moss and algae growth, and can shelter surfaces from wind that would naturally dry them. This creates ideal conditions for biological growth, requiring more frequent professional cleaning.
